Michal Buck (top left), 59, used only natural materials or unwanted items to build the ‘cob house’ (centre) at the bottom of his garden in the Oxfordshire countryside. The formerart teacher, now a rural smallholder near Oxford, has started renting out the property and his current tenant – a worker on a neighbouring dairy farm – pays for her lodgings in milk. The house features a kitchen, a living area (top right) and a bunk-style bed to maximise space below (bottom right).
